Screening is one
of the initial steps to regaining control over problem gambling. Many
people are hesitant to seek help, because they are unsure
if the problem
exists. Others recognize the problem, but believe it is not severe
enough to warrant outside assistance. Still others are embarrassed
to talk about the problem.
If you, or someone you know, might have a gambling problem, please
visit the National Problem Gambling Awareness site below (sponsored by
the National Council on Problem Gambling), to access several different
screening assessments. Explanation and instructions are
provided for each screening tool (versions in Spanish and modified for adolescents
are available),
and each assessment can be printed for completion at your convenience.
